Long Weekend

Let me sum up my week and all the previous weeks I’ve had ever since I stopped writing in this blog: BORING.

Lately, I’ve been more cranky than usual. It is not the hormones that are talking because I’ve already finished this month’s visiting days but it’s just that I have nothing to do that makes me really excited. Compared to previous years (i.e. when I first started law school) my life right now just kind of sucks. It is this same old boring routine that keeps happening over and over and over again like I am stuck in a time loop. To get away from all of that I write stories and watch movies, binge all I like as long as iflix remains free until the end of the month. I’m stuck in my room, refusing to go out, not wanting to go out. I’m not really depressed because I am eating well enough. I function well enough to keep my focus. I feel fine and normal. I even meditate and do self-exploration. So is this just laziness talking?

I have tons of work to do and not an urge to start or when I do start not a single motivation to finish. Either law school is getting easier or I’m getting smarter. Haha. LOL. Another possibility would be that I just happen to lose interest and no longer care. The latter one’s the most believable. As much as I want to follow the advice of “Remember why you’re here. Why you want to become a lawyer.” I always end up remembering the fact that I already lost interest in law 5-6 years ago while I was still in College. What I really wanted was a scholarship for a Master’s Degree either in Europe, Japan or Singapore. (notice the first one’s a continent and not a country?) What I wanted was a fellowship program so that I can become a diplomat, which I probably would have been now if ever I have the chops to pass the FSE. Law school just came as a “okay, since we’re here let’s do it” thing, sudden and not well thought of. It’s not that I am not learning or enjoying it but somehow I feel that UP College of Law is not really the place I want to be in right now. All I want is to get out of here and do work pronto. I really can’t wait for OLA to start, and I don’t mind the “alleged irrationality and irritability” that a certain figure in that “internship” could “probably” give me when I start until I finish. The claims that “it might be hell” actually intrigue me even more. Maybe I am an unproclaimed masochist but I really want to see if I’m up to the challenge. Scolding, shouting and abusive language or behavior (mostly rumors from upperclassmen) will not kill me. Sure it hurts my pride but all the more do I want to give it a go. Maybe that’s the thing that will finally get me off this boredom of mine. Sadly, I still have to wait for two semesters before I can start. Bummer.

Damn, look at the time: 2:55AM. Add insomia to the list and maybe I am depressed, I just won’t admit it. Anyway, I’ll end here. I just wrote this boring stuff to have something to post in this self-praise blog anyway. Feel free to ridicule, I somehow find it interesting. Maybe I’d try looking for a dominatrix next. Haha. ๐Ÿ™‚

February — right?

It’s Valentines Day. Ugh. Ever since I broke my heart I’ve been bitter about “The Day of Hearts.”ย Hey, who could blame a woman scorned? But then I read about the history of Valentine’s and the man behind the name. I couldn’t help but be saddened by the fact that a gruesome ending for one man turned out to be one of the most anticipated days worldwide. Many do not even know what they’re actually celebrating. Poor them. But hey, his bravery and sacrifice is definitely worth celebrating. Maybe today is just another ordinary day for me but for millions of people worldwide today is their ray of hope at a love never-ending. So many hearts worldwide hoping for any hint of romance. So many that if I built a satellite to channel such feelings I could have powered a whole continent (even Asia). So for now I’d give it to them and maybe find the time to be a hopeless romantic today as well.

Anyway, it’s still a Sunday so time for my weekly recap which I terribly missed making. How many weeks has it been since the last one? I’ve been neglecting this blog for weeks now despite the fact that I am less busy this semester. I don’t really know why. Maybe because there’s nothing significant to write yet? Oh, I almost forgot. I turned 25 last 2nd of February. I didn’t even write an entry then because it was still an ordinary day. If it wasn’t for the big reveal that one of my friends made regarding my actual birth date then it would have passed by without anyone even knowing. I’m used to that. I don’t particularly celebrate it anyway and birthday greetings to me are too robotic. It’s like “My Condolences” without actually meaning it, for most people that is. Maybe it’s the culture. We greet each other out of respect more than out of sympathy or even empathy or even genuine good will. So it’s just too robotic for me. Anyway, I’d better get on with my recap for now. My Sunday and the Week Recently recap.

Best Read:
None at the moment. Academic reading, most of the time. Very boring.

Best Written:
Chapter 3 of my ongoing novel. As I keep on writing my novel, the story keeps on changing depending on my mood or the things I see, learn, watch and feel. I welcome such changes anyway but sometimes I can feel the inconsistency that’s building up. My story and the characters are actually becoming more human now than just fictional – with the inconsistency part.

LSS of the Week:
When I Dream About You, the Grace Note version. Ever since I heard this cover again live during Wednesday’s UP Fair (Overdrive) I can’t get it out of my head anymore. It’s stuck and I keep imagining myself performing it live with a full band set and all. Ah, dreams.

Thought for the Week:
It will get very busy soon. Surely.

Wished for the week to have been:
Not sure. Maybe I’d stick to what it was. No changes.

OOTW (Outfit of the Week):
Wore a dress and a formal attire by the end of the week. I couldn’t help it. My laundry’s still at the shop waiting for pick up.

Loved:
The time I spent with Nadine. (my co-fangirl) I missed hanging out with her. I also had a dose of my annual UP Fair escapade. I got to experience a new ride this year – Vikings. It was kind of like the Anchor’s Away ride in Enchanted Kingdom, the one Alden and Maine rode for their theme park date. I won a lot in the game booths (all of which were pellet gun booths, I’m really good at those). Out of the 6 times I played (most with 12 shots each) I only missed 7 shots. The ones I missed after Leni (my roommate) and I experienced the tulakan, the suffocation, and the JJs (Jumping Jologs) that happens every year Chicosci plays in UP Fair. Ugh. That’s why I hate standing concerts. Even so, I feel really good about my aim. I’m still a sharpshooter! Yes!

Wanted to:
Ride the Octopus at UP Fair. I missed that ride this year but next year maybe. I also wanted to go and listen to the bands even if I’m outside the Fair grounds. I realized last year that staying outside the grounds is less stressful and more cost-efficient. You get to enjoy the same sounds anyway so who cares?

Needed to:
SLEEP. I’ve been bingeing on Doctor Who episodes ever since Nadine gave me copies of some of the episodes from Season 1. Now I can’t stop. Waaaahhhh!!!! Love Doctor Who btw. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Nerds!

Felt:
TIRED.
Puyat pa more!

Hoping Next Week to be:
Not busy yet. I need sleep.

That’s it for now. Maybe it’ll take time for the next one. I foresee that there won’t be any significant changes in my life for the next weeks until next month probably. Except the fact that it’s nearly Holy Week (that’s a week-long holiday for me! Wahahahahaha :)) SLEEP! SLEEP! SLEEP!

Good night Nerds! ;p

First Week Back in the City

Hello, hello, hello again World! Happy New Year to one and all. I am definitely back in the city of dreams – Manila and finally I am back to having WiFi at home which only means one thing – Hello again Online World! For this week I had all the time in the world to make a fresh start for the year ahead. I arrived on Monday this week and found our boarding house in a mess. Thankfully enrollment in my College does not start until Wednesday so I had time to clean. Seeing a once super messy room turn out organized and shiny after definitely made me feel accomplished.

I finally got the chance to go out and watch a movie. I finally got to see My Bebe Love starring my favorite love team – AlDub. As per the reviews I have been reading before I went to the cinemas to watch, I did not get my hopes up with regards to the story. I also knew the movie would be a giant commercial for all the brand sponsors that the movie has. So I did not bat an eye at the blatant advertisements that was incorporated in the script. I had high hopes though for the ‘kilig’ scenes of the couple but I got a bit disappointed. Yes, there were a lot of kilig scenes but most of them, if not all, were scenes that I already had a sneak peak to because of the many BTS pictures of the shoot that went viral during their taping days. I actually found only one scene between Alden and Maine which I personally did not have a picture of and that scene only lasted for a few seconds. I guess seeing those BTS pictures took the kilig out of the scenes shown in the movie. I also had high hopes for the ending but it was a scene that I have already seen during one of the KS episodes and just like those BTS photos, it took all of the kilig away. I still liked the movie though – it was a good way to de-stress. I also saw another movie, Haunted Mansion. I really wanted to watch either Buy Now, Die Later or Star Wars but the former was no longer showing and the latter had late showing schedules. I could not wait for 9pm just so I could watch a movie. It was scary outside. Haha. Actually, the real reason was because I did not want to spend several hundreds for a taxi to take me home. It would be hard to find a jeepney going to UP from SM North at 11pm.

As for our enrollment for this semester, unlike most of the UP undergrads our College did not need pre-rogs and stuff such as long lines just to get a slot. Most of the classes are distributed per block and the College even enlists our classes for us – convenient, right? In half a day, you’re already finished with enrollment. The problem lies only if you are an irregular student and you decide to take back subjects for that semester. You’d have to wait for the slots to be assigned on the day of the enrollment. But still, unlike the undergrads, our enrollment takes only about 2 days at most to finish plus we do not have to wake up at 2am just to fall in line to get subject slots.ย (Yes, this happens in Undergrad. Just read Overheard. You’d see.) That includes all the delays that one might experience during the enrollment process. That’s still relatively shorter than the average time period that you can get enrolled if you’re taking an undergraduate degree. You’d be lucky if you get to pay your tuition a day after your assigned enrollment date. If you’re able to pay on the same day as you started to enroll, then people would kill for your luck, except during your first year, first sem. (Just an expression. Not really happening, as far as I know.)ย So compared to others, I was lucky. I finished before 12 noon on Wednesday. I had all the time therefore to binge on TV series and movies.

I finished up to the latest episode of the Bones series this week.ย Talk about binge. I really love this series. It’s both comical and intelligent. The perfect collaboration of themes for people like me to remain hooked to the story. Even though I am such a fan, I hate how the writer ended their fall finale episode. They paralyzed Hodgins! That was after they blew him and Aubrey up with a pipe bomb made by a bunch of kids. I’d be less resentful if Hodgins got paralyzed because of a bomb made by a mad-man like Pelant was but nope. Just two psycho kids who had irks with authority figures took his whole life and the future plans that he has with Angela away in an instant. I really hope Angela and Hodgins do not regret their decision to stay in the Jeffersonian instead of moving to Paris. Ugh, why writer! Why?

I also got the latest updates on the Mangas that I have been following recently namely, Shokugeki no Soma, Skip Beat and Assassination Classroom. Like always, each chapter isย bitin! But that only makes me look forward to the next one’s release.

Basically, all I did for the week was, aside from enrollment, to re-live the perks of being in the city and having access to all the opportunities possible especially on the internet. I missed this for the past 3 weeks I have been away from this privilege. Tomorrow, it’s the start of the new semester. We already have an assignment even if we haven’t even met our teacher yet. Oh, what the heck! I got to finish that assignment last night anyway due to the abundance of the free time that I STILL have. After this week, say hello to less free times again. I can’t really say that I am excited to start the new semester but at least for now I can say that I am willing to give it a try. I’ve decided to just receive whatever life throws at me with a smile on my face. Good or bad, an experience is an experience and that is what makes you grow as a person. This is the last day of the semester break. I am determined to make the most out of it.

For our weekly sum-up, here’s my Sunday and the Week Recently recap of the week prior:

Best Read:
All The Places To Go…How Will You Know? by John Ortberg. I’m still two chapters in but it’s definitely an eye-opener. I hope I get the time to finish it by the end of the week before the real work comes in. Hopefully, this will help me on my quest to a more exciting and more fulfilling life ahead.

Best Written:
The last two chapters of my recent novel ‘Until Then’. Most of the characters are actually based on the KS of EB. You’d definitely notice it especially with the character names if you’re a fan. I decided to write the ending first because that part is clearer to me in structure. Also, it will provide me with the motive to finish this novel, finally. It would be a waste if I did not see this through, right? Seeing that I already spent so many hours writing the ending. I would not be able to post that if I don’t write the body. So, I guess it was a good decision to start with the ending first.

LSS of the Week:
Ako’y Mahalin by Maricris Garcia, the main theme of the Afternoon series Destiny Rose. Recently, I’ve become hooked with this series as the main protagonist, a transgender played by Ken Chan (Who is by the way, a straight guy and not at all gay in anyway <– hey! It rhymed.) is just too beautiful. Also, the song is very singable (if there’s such a word).ย I really love it.

Thought for the Week:
Close your eyes, take the leap.

Wished for the week to have been:
This week is more than what I could ask for. I won’t ask for it to be anything more or less.

OOTW (Outfit of the Week):
Shorts and shirts since I’m mostly at home. Pants and blouses only when I went out.

Loved:
The feeling that this year will hold a lot of new opportunities for me. Deep inside, I know for a fact that this year will be THE YEAR, at least for me.

Wanted to:
Write the second chapter of my novel. I was writing the end chapters and finished it yesterday so I want to start with the second chapter now. It’s still a working progress especially since it’s the first time that I am writing a full-Tagalog novel. It’s harder since my usual medium is English but I’m up for the challenge. Like I said, take that leap. It’s time that I get out of my comfort zone.

Needed to:
Set my priorities straight. I need to fully know what are the things in my life that I need to change for this year so that I can work on them one by one. I’m still sorting them out as of the moment.

Felt:
Alive. Especially after I finished the last two chapters of my novel. I always knew I loved to write but it was different this time. Maybe because I finally have a goal in mind. I’m definitely more passionate now compared before when I did not have a definite goal set out. I’m loving this feeling and I hope this will see me through until the end.

Hoping Next Week to be:
More awesome than this week was. I am truly looking forward to more exciting and more fulfilling days, weeks and months ahead.

I wonder then, what would next week be like? Happy weekend everyone!

Last One

Tonight is my last night here in Manila for 2015 as I’ll be heading back to the province on an early flight tomorrow morning. By province I don’t mean just the political term but also the colloquial term as well hence, no internet, no wi-fi, NONE! So even if it’s still not Sunday, I’ll be preempting my ‘Weekend Recaps‘ for this week tonight since I won’t be able to do it tomorrow and probably until I return to Manila next year. Technically, I’ll be on blog hiatus for a while for now. Actually, make that a SNS hiatus as well. HUHUHU. WAAAHHHH!!! ^~^

The title for this post is too appropriate for it I can validly claim that it’s ingenious. It’s like a summary of everything I’m about to write about in just two-words. How cool is that?

First, it’s our ‘FINAL‘ week of the semester. Technically, the semester is finally O-V-E-R!!! Albeit the last take-home essay for Tax 1 which I’ll be doing while in transit by the way because I already booked a flight before our professor announced that the date of submission of our take-home essay will be on —- TENTENENEN —-> on Monday noon. (I’ll arrive home at around 9pm tomorrow and I haven’t started it yet because I’m still getting ready for my early flight tomorrow as well. How cool is that?) However, going back, it’s FINAL WEEK so here I am happier than ever because I can finally claim that I’m half-done with this 3rd year in law school. Konti na lang. Push pa! Woooohh!! So yes, last one for school this year indeed.

Second, this will probably be my last blog post for the year. You’ll get to hear more from me (even if you don’t want to) probably next year after this. (No internet, mind you) Isn’t the title just appropriate?

Lastly, last one because tonight I finally got the answer to a question I’ve been longing to ask someone for the longest time now. But the funny thing is that “that person” already answered the question that has been bugging me (for years) SIX (6) years ago! (Let’s emphasize that more) SIX YEARS AGO! It’s just the old proud me never even bothered to read it because of my ‘anger’ (which I don’t recall at all)ย  at that time. Lame, right? But hey, HUMAN here! Anyway, so tonight I can finally move on from that question which took me 6 years to find out the answer to and claim that tonight is the last night of that ME before that can’t forgive and won’t let go of the past. Tonight, I’ll let it all go. *Cue in Let It Go from Frozen* Hahahaha.

Anyway, that’s it. For this week I guess I can summarize it in just ONE WORD: EXAMS…. I don’t need to further elaborate but I guess everyone reading this that has gone through a “Hell Week” so to speak of such can attest to why I no longer need to elaborate on the topic any further. It’s something that you hear and just know. So I’ll just skip to the Sunday (For tonight, Saturday) and the Week Recently part of my recaps.

Best Read:
Reviewers! Thanks to them I survived this semester and the WEEK! Without them my life would have been over since Monday. (Scratch that, since Friday rather)

Best Written:
Certainly none of the essay exams that I took. Nowhere was I confident about my answers at all. For now, I’m relying on the strength of my prayers and devotions. The quote: “I did my best and God will do the rest” is my mantra until final grades come out. Eto ang mga panahon na Bahala Na is definitely more appropriate.

LSS of the Week:
On the Wings of Love by Regine Velasquez. I don’t know why but it keeps playing in my head and I even tried singing it in the shower with falsetto and all. I think I woke up my roommates because of that. Sorry guys!

Thought for the Week:
“Almost there…” Every time an exam for a particular subject ends, this I always say or think about saying this to myself. I think everyone can perfectly relate to this.

Wished for the week to have been:
Nah, I’m just glad that it’s over. ๐Ÿ™‚

OOTW (Outfit of the Week):
When it’s finals week you never have time for glamour. Shirts and pedals or jeans are enough.

Loved:
The fact that I’m going home tomorrow. (Before I wrote this part it was still Saturday but now it’s 12:30AM Sunday. Technically, I still complied with my Sunday requirement. Tinatamad na lang ako mag-edit. Hehehe)

Wanted to:
Stay for one day more. AlDub is guesting on too many shows for Sunday and I just hope my power bank is enough to sustain my TV phone for 3 shows where they’ll be in later. (Sunday already) Waaahhh.. watching them in transit… Very fan girl-ish of me.

Needed to:
Sleep. It would be a long day ahead.

Felt:
Relieved and happy. It’s over! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hoping Next Week to be:
FREEDOM!

Last one done. See you all next year. Happy Holidays everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. The reason I was delayed in writing the latter part of this post was because we watched The Road where Alden Richards starred in as our last bonding moment for the year before I leave tom–later. I still don’t get how the young Luis made it through life and even becoming a cop without anybody’s help and without any financial capacity. Did he go to school? Did he get adopted? And how did Rhian’s character even know his real name? It was never shown that Alden introduced himself to them in the movie. Ugh, so many questions. Now I’ll be thinking about all of these questions until next year probably. Direk Yam Laranas, help me out!

The Week Before *Insert greatest fear*

T’was the week before #FINALS (Hashtag, Capslock, Bold, underlined para intense!), even though we actually had exams on Friday and today, it’s still nothing compared to the exams we’ll have for the next week. This week as compared to last week was a downgrade, meaning nothing much actually happened. Even in my favorite show nothing much happened except yesterday when they went to Enchanted Kingdom. Waaah! Inggit ako. Never pa ako nakapunta. Soon! But then I guess the show’s just refreshing itself and they’re in transition. I do hope the scales escalate soon so that next year will become a more promising year for the two ‘love’-birds(?). So basically it was just study-bored-break-study-bored-break-break-break-break routine for me for the whole week (note the many breaks. Ugh! Studies.) Ergo, not much to tell so I’ll just skip to my “Sunday and the Week Recently” part of my Weekend recaps.

Best Read:
Zilch. Nada. None. Studying for exams does not give you the pleasure to read anything besides boring reviewers.

Best Written:
Same as above. The same reason as well. Id.

LSS of the Week:
But still, one can never live without music to brighten their day. So for this week it was Paano Ba Ang Magmahal by Sarah Geronimo and Piolo Pascual from the movie, The Breakup Playlist. Due to the fact that my friend said that Sarah G. played a law student in the movie I just had to watch it. Although the story’s good, the attack to it was not fairly well played. It was too “minadali” for me. They could have delved deeper on the breakup issue and showed more about what happened after the breakup scene. Not much was seen of that so it didn’t really feel like a breakup playlist to me. But the song was really great! I shouldn’t be shocked since it was composed by Yeng Constantino. When it comes to love songs, she’s the girl!

Thought for the Week:
Finals. Finals. Finals. What else?

Wished for the week to have been:
Less boring.

OOTW (Outfit of the Week):
Plain shirts and jeans when going out. No more classes eh. Shirt and shorts when inside. Mostly the latter since I rarely go out when I don’t need to. Homebuddy feels.

Loved:
The movie Ghajini starring Aamir Khan and Asin which tells the tragic love story of a person who is suffering from Anterograde Amnesia. For the plot, click this:ย Ghajini Plot. I’ve been into Bollywood movies ever since I saw Baghban (Baghban Plot) and since my Philo 1 professor made us watch a series of inspiring Bollywood films, TMTM. I don’t mind that they take up so much of my time or that they insert song and dance numbers in every film. The lessons they portray and the attack they do for every story is world-class. I do hope Filipino filmmakers learn from them as well. Minus the song and dance part of course, that’s classic Bollywood. I also love the fact that finally I have a copy of one of my favorite Rom-Com Bollywood movies, Anjaana Anjaani (Anjaana Anjaani Plot). I really love the comedy in this film. It’s raw and natural. I can watch it over and over again.

Wanted to :
Go to EK! After watching yesterday’s KS episode I really want to go to Enchanted Kingdom now more than ever. Too bad my flight is on the day after the last day of exams. Ugh! Why are ticket prices so expensive when it’s nearing Christmas!

Needed to:
Study more. Finals na! Ano ba!?

Felt:
Bored most of the time.

Hoping Next Week to be:
The Last of the Mohicans… waaahh.. joke! The last week of finals (well, that one’s a reality) But I do hope that after that week (hell for sure) I would feel a sense of relief and fulfillment that YES! it’s finally over! 3rd year 1st sem done, one more then I’d be a happy person! Though I’ll be delayed for a year but still, 3rd year’s always the gem, right?

So that’s it basically. What about yours?

This Full Blast Week: Rocket Ship to Happiness

There is definitely nothing better than the official last week of classes. (Although we still have one make-up class tomorrow, it’s still final classes week for me) This whole week was filled with nothing but good vibes from start to finish. It definitely felt like I was in a rocket ship leading only to happiness and all I did was just sit back and relax. This week deserves to be called the FULL BLAST week indeed. To recap, just like my previous Weekend recaps post, I’ll start by summarizing the week’s highlights first and end with my own version of ‘Sunday Currently‘. (Let’s call it ‘Sunday Recap’ instead. Couldn’t think of a better term.)

HIGHLIGHTS:

1. Monday, the time when Alden implicitly admitted that he was ‘falling’ for Maine certainly made my day. Plus the laglag that Lola Nidora made with these two, EPIC! And the news that I got from a classmate who has a legit AlDub BTS source just made this alleged ‘confession’ย  more believable. (Sorry guys, they asked to keep the matter private. Let’s just say that I am now 85% sure that the ‘confession’ was REAL.)

2. Tuesday, I missed the AlDub forum held at UP Palma Hall. Wah, so close yet so far! But despite that I was glad that our Professor extended our class and finished the entire coverage that day. That only means that there’s no more make up class needed and we’re officially free! Of this class, at least.

3. Wednesday, we officially ended two more classes plus the news about our final exams for both classes really made me see the light at the end of the dark tunnel. There was hope! Also, this was the night when I met three of my favorite celebrity chefs and had a foodie night out with friends. (see previous blog post for details: Foodie Night Out published on Nov 25, 2015) I couldn’t be happier.

4. Thursday, no classes so it was KS time! It was supposed to be Maine and Alden’s 19th weeksary but the episode was just so sad. With Alden and Cindy’s wedding on Saturday, I can imagine Maine’s pain. But despite that I know that in the end, KS will deliver the Saturday episode really well and full of great lessons as usual. This was also Maine’s first appearance in a TV series for Princess in the Palace. I am really excited to see her act for the first time (with script and taped) outside of KS in the next episodes.

5. Friday, Last day of Nego. Although class started relatively earlier than the usual (@ 8AM) I still love the fact that that was it. So that’s four down, one more to go. Oh, we got to sing for our teacher. Darn was I nervous. P.S. It was another sad KS episode. But it only meant that the Saturday episode will blow the nation’s mind away once more.

6. Saturday, not the last day of Succession but I was happy that I finally got called for recitations. That only means that I don’t need to ‘fully’ study (meaning I can just browse through the readings and not really study that much of the cases) for Monday’s ‘last’ class because of the rounds-system that we have. But since I’m such a sport I volunteered to recite on Monday hoping I’d get to recite only the part that I digested. Wow, here I go again with the volunteering. Hay naku! :/ Also, Saturday was the “supposed” Wedding of Alden and Cindy and the episode was delivered amazingly well. Kudos to the KS staff for another great episode! Although I found the ‘amnesia’ part to be a little cliche. The lessons are definitely fit for today’s generation. Fight for love in the best way possible. When it comes to choosing between love and family, one should at least try to have both since both are very important to a person’s life. Very bitin yes, as usual, especially the last part. (see below) The genuine reactions, the tight embrace, the almost-kiss. Ugh! This only means that I have more to look forward to next week.

7. Finally, today. Not much happened. Due to unexpected circumstances, my “laag” with my College friends got canceled. Manila’s a hard place to have/plan a get together in especially when all of you are not that familiar with the routes and places. Cebu’s a much easier place to navigate because its such a small city. Today would have been a fun day but still I believe that there was a reason why the ‘get together’ did not happen. Maybe I needed more rest, or I needed more time to study for theย ‘last” class tomorrow. I don’t know. All, I know is that I don’t feel that much regret that I didn’t get to spend time with my friends. Not that I don’t miss them, I do, much more than anything else. (These people are not just ordinary friends. They’ve been my family for my whole College life, 4 years in total, while I was away from mine and vice versa. Maybe it’s because all of us came from provinces and we only had each other to lean on. We definitely have a very strong bond that’s not easy to break.) I miss them so much but maybe I needed the alone time for now especially with finals coming up. I’ll get to see them soon. Besides true friendship, no matter theย  time or distance, never fades and that’s what we have so no matter how long it takes, the reunion (at the perfect time) will be so worth it. I miss you so much guys! Hope you enjoyed your short vacay in Manila. ๐Ÿ˜€

To end, here’s my Sunday and the Week Recently (Yes, finally thought of a term!) summary:

Best Read:
None. I haven’t read that much lately except cases and required readings for my subjects and all of them were boring. Well, class materials, even if they were interesting, really have that power to draw all the interest away. The fact that it’s a required reading automatically classifies them under ‘boring and not entertaining’. Told you I never liked studying.

Best Written:
My Succession digests (the last of them, finally!) I literally put in a lot of time and effort to make this last set of digest worth it. It was comprehensive enough to land anyone who uses it a good grade in recitations. Wah! Bragging here! Haha. But seriously, I really liked how they turned out although I was a bit late in submitting them but hey, they were definitely worth the time.

LSS of the Week:
1. Sana Ikaw na Nga by Vina Morales c/o my Nego seatmate who was humming I Believe I Can Fly and me mishearing it for the former song. Now the opening verse is stuck in my mind on repeat.
2. Triangulo by Thyro Alfaro, Yumi Lacsama and Jeric Medina. I downloaded this from Spotify and I just love the wit of this song. “Kahit ilang beses mong i-try, i-try, i-TRY(I) ANG GULO-gulo, ang gulo-gulo.” See?
3. Locked Away by R. City and Adam Levine because Alden sang it in KS last Monday and I love the lyrics. Just the Chorus part though.
4. Minamahal by Sarah Geronimo because of a vid posted by AlDub Nation where this song was used as background. When I heard the whole song the first thought that came to my mind was, “I can use this as a vow for my wedding.”ย  Ayiieeeee…..

Thought for the Week:
Last week of classes! WOOOHHHHH!!!!!!!

Wished for the week to have been:
Nothing more, nothing less. This week has been perfect for me.

OOTW (Outfit of the Week):
I mostly went formal for this week since it’s the last week of classes and I expected that there will be a lot of picture taking involved. Apparently, it has been a class tradition that we take a photo with our professors on the last day of class after we give him/her a farewell token/gift. The only professor to whom we did not do this was with our Credit professor, not because we didn’t like her, we did. She was one of our favorites. It was because she was not into such stuff. She ‘rumor has it’ prefers to keep her relationship with students professional and doesn’t even bother to remember our names or faces which was fine. She does not like to receive gifts or take photos. We just respected her view of things.

Loved:
The fact that the semester is finally near its end. That pretty much sums it all.

Wanted to:
Go on that ‘get together’ with my College friends but things happen for a reason. I’ll just have to wait for the next time we get that opportunity. ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, I want to finally try Starbucks Red Cups Peppermint Mocha. I want to know if they were really worth the wait. ๐Ÿ˜€

Needed to:
Rest, in preparation for the finals and for the upcoming puyat study sessions. Haha.

Felt:
Relieved that it’s almost over. YAAAASSSS!!!!! #HappyGirl

Hoping Next Week to be:
Not as stressful as I expect it will be. STUDY MODE on. Waaaahhh!!!!

So that was my full blast week. How has yours been?

The A(E)PEC Recap. Get it, A(E)pic? No? Okay.

Yes corny as it may sound I did think about this title even before I decided to make a recap of this week’s happenings. I once heard a reporter say it in the news: “An APEC recap” and I heard ‘Epic’. Sorry medyo bingi ang lola niyo. But yes, that was how it started. No matter what, I still find it funny. Okay! Moving on. So how’s my week been, you ask? (by YOU, I mean the hypothetical and imaginary people who probably read my blog located in a different planet/reality from where I currently am) It’s been fun because it’s a 4-day Holiday, minus one which we spent for a make-up class in Tax. There are three things that defined this week by the way and those are:

  1. School
  2. KS and movies
  3. Food

So SCHOOL. Aside from the make-up classes I did attempt (albeit a failure) to study for Final exams which are up two weeks from now. Yay! *note the sarcasm* So all in all I think I spent 20% of my week on School, what an achievement for a Holiday Break! *Pats self on the back*

KS and MOVIES. KS or Kalyeserye (You know the famous AlDub loveteam? Yes, that one. Okay judgement time!) will be a constant happening for every week, especially with how the story’s been unfolding recently. That is because I need all the GV I can get with all the stress and BV that is Malcolm-brought. You cannot imagine the amount of gloom that building holds. Whew! Anyone who is sensitive to energies/ auras and stuff like that would definitely make a run for it. So KS it is. Movies watched for this week are: Paddington, Now You See Me, Lucy, Jack the Giant Slayer, Inside Out, The Duff and The Martian. That’s actually a lot compared to my other boring weeks. Haha. So all in all this comprised 60% of my time this week and though I feel a little bit guilty I still would say I’d do it over again! I couldn’t be happier.

Last, FOOD. I cooked for this week a variety of dishes. See my IG for a sneak peak. My roommate, who is this household’s alternative cook aside from me, is unfortunately out on a retreat so all the cooking was left to me. Not that I minded it. I had an ‘almost’ whole week break after all. I love how I learned how to cook in just a span of 4 months and can now do my own recipes. Contrary to what I thought before, I don’t suck at it. Everyone in my family cooks, except for me so I guess it was just laziness talking and I really had the talent all along. My roommates say that my dishes are tasty so yes I’m bragging a little. Hehe. So as of this moment, this comprised 30% of my time for the week.

That was how I spent the APEC(Epic), sorry I just had to, Holiday. Not much I must say but hey, I was a bit productive, right? *Note to self: Agree to yourself all the time. In that way you’ll feel less bad.*

So that’s my Recap for this week, my first. Really fulfilling. ๐Ÿ™‚ But wait, there’s more! I made a format for a Weekend Recap that is a bit similar to the format of the Sunday Currently blog formats that has been popular on blog sites nowadays. I just tweaked it a little bit. Instead of “Currently”, it will be a recap of the whole week so everything will be in past tense but still CTTO for this one.

Best Read:
My PIL readings on International Human Rights. It’s quite interesting how they have a lot of these rules and sanctions but can’t seem to impose them. The international stage is definitely not an easy one to manage especially without a ruling world government. Wondering what it would be like to have one though?

Best Written:
My new blog. I just started this week and I am on fire. I really hope that doesn’t die down or snuff out eventually.

LSS of the Week:
I Was Made For Loving You by Tori Kelly. The refrain and chorus part just keeps popping into my head for no apparent reason. I think it’s the tune that keeps me hooked to this song. Amazing song and lyrics by the way. Clap. Clap.

Thought for the Week:
It’s almost Finals. Torn between Ugh and Yay! Ugh because I’d be studying non-stop from now on and Yay ’cause after that is my long-awaited Christmas break! WOOHHOOOO!

Wished for the week to have been:
More academically linked, maybe. That’s the only thing I feel guilty about but knowing me I’d do the same thing over again. Post-finals jitters. I get tired of studying and later on cram them all during finals week. Lazy crammer.

OOTW (Outfit of the Week):
I mostly wore the new clothes I bought for this month. My new addition to my new wardrobe style. I’m ditching the t-shirts and replacing them with blouses and other ‘more formal’ attire in preparation for the real world. Can’t have me wearing a t-shirt in the office.

Loved:
Now You See Me. It is an amazing movie. I watched it two times in a row. That’s how much I love it.

now

Wanted to:
Record the song that I wrote for the AlDub Songwriting Contest but it’s really hard if you don’t have the right equipment. I would need a Mac Laptop but that’s just too expensive for my current lifestyle. Someday, soon, I’d get one. I am hoping to get one for free (i.e. a company prize, a contest prize, or a sponsor) Haha. Those dreams.

Needed to:
Inspire myself to love studying more, even just for the last weeks of this semester. I need to become more studious now more than ever. So I’m starting to lie to and convince myself that I actually love to study. Good luck with that!

Felt:
Distracted. The holiday break is the only thing on my mind right now. I can’t even concentrate on anything else. Tsk!

Hoping Next Week to be:
Me feeling less guilty for not being able to study as much as I needed to. Inspiration where the heck are you????

So, how’s your week been?
